| O ecossistema formado pela Floresta Estacional Decidual (FED) predomina na região do Alto Uruguai no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo analisar de forma descritiva a composição florística e fitossociológica dos componentes arbóreos de um fragmento de FED presente no Parque Estadual do Turvo (PET), localizado no Município de Derrubadas, RS (floresta do Yucumã). Utilizou-se o método de área fixa, sendo instaladas 18 unidades amostrais de 1.000 m2 de forma aleatória, orientadas de acordo com a estrada principal no parque. | This work aimed the anatomical description of Melaleuca leucadendron wooden. The study was conducted from an individual tree collecting three discs for confection of histological slides and macerated. Was used to mashing nitric-acetic method and for histology was used simple staining with 1% safranin. The wood anatomy agrees in general aspects to the typical pattern of Myrtaceae Family: flocking diffuse porosity, solitary pores, simple perforation plates, besides paratracheal axial parenchyma linear aliforme, very numerous rays and heterocellular, pits-ray vascular parenchyma-vascular and fibrous tissue composed of prominent fibrotraqueoids, very short fibers, distinct growth rings of walls marked by the end of the fibers flattened latewood. | The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of substrate volume on the quality of angico-vermelho (Parapiptadenia rigida (Benth.) Brenan) seedlings. Plastic tubes of circular cross section and volume of 50, 100 and 175 cm³ were used. A completely randomized design was used with treatments consisting of three substrate volumes with six replications. Seedlings quality were evaluate through the following attributes: seedling height, stem diameter, number of leaves, shoot and root dry weight and total dry biomass. These variables were used to determine: height/stem diameter, root dry weight/shoot dry biomass, height/air dry biomass and Dickson quality index.
